Off To A Great Start

Two Adoption Grants

On January 1st we hit the ground running as we hand delivered two adoption grants to two very deserving families. Our adoption grants differ from most in that they aren’t financial based. We are committed to providing one adoption grant per year to a family who has already proven to live out the command of James 1:27 “to care for orphans and widows in their distress”. This year, due to a matching grant and other sizeable donations we were about to award TWO adoption grants. We can’t wait to share the families’ stories and photos once the adoptions are finalized.

Making the News

Our local news station CN2 News came to The York County Foster Closet to do a five year follow up story. It was exciting to share about the evolution of our ministry. Renee O’Neil, the reported who we met five years ago was excited to hear about Defend the Fatherless and how our ministry has expanded our reach through our Frozen Meal Program, Tutoring, Connection Events and other special programing such as our most recent Santa’s Helper program.

February 20 marks 5 years since we served our first family at The York County Foster Closet. While we wish we could have a great bit in person birthday celebration we can’t do that due to COVID. However, we will celebrate when we feel it’s safe. In the meant time we are gearing up for some other fun plans in February so be sure to follow us on social media. You don’t want to miss out on the great stories we are going to be sharing.
