Respite Night

Parent’s Night Out Event

On Feb 12th at 4:00 pm we had over 50 volunteers gather to spoil some local foster and adoptive families for a night a Respite. These generous folks came for a training to learn about how best to serve the children who they would be spending the evening with. They were spoiled by dinner and coffee from Rock Hill Roasters thanks to the generosity of Forest Hill Church, Fort Mill and Elevation Church, Riverwalk.

The children arrived at 5:00 pm. Over the next three hours they ate pizza, built Legos, watched a movie in the big Theater and had lots of FUN! Each child was able to take home the Lego Project he or she built. This was all in thanks to generous donors from all over our community.

When they returned from their evening away, the parents were greeted with happy and worn out children. They were offered frozen meals to take home in hopes that they could enjoy another night off from cooking that week.

We can’t wait to do this again soon! Let us know if you would like to volunteer in the future.
