Defend the Fatherless Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
A Day of Abundant Thanks
On May 22, 2022 we were finally, after many years of prayer able to officially open our doors at our brand new stand alone space. We started the morning with an appreciation luncheon for the members of Flint Hill Baptist Church who have graciously opened their doors and hearts to allow us to partner with them as we have moved into their school house.
After lunch we were able to show the church members how we have been able to transform their beautiful space into a welcoming home for our ministry. They were all impressed by the organization of The York County Foster Closet and the warmth of our gathering space.
Our board members quickly cleaned up from the luncheon to prepare for the 2:00 pm Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Pastor Wayne Deffinger kicked off the ceremony with a beautiful prayer. He eloquently stated in his prayer that the Flint Hill School House has a 200 year history in Fort Mill of serving the youth and that he is excited for the legacy to continue with Defend the Fatherless as the Lord has a special place in his heart for children who are in foster care. What an honor it is for Defend the Fatherless to be a part of the growing history of the Flint Hill School House Building. The ribbon was cut, tours were given, cake was enjoyed and children played on our outdoor fields and playset. It truly was the perfect day to celebrate God’s faithfulness over our organization.
