On August 14th we held our First Annual Back 2 School Bash in partnership with Forest Hill Church, Fort Mill. Church members began collecting shoe and backpack supply wishes in July. They were able to shop for the specific pair of shoes a child wished for as well as the necessary supplies the child needed based on grade level. The evening before the event volunteers from Forest Hill Church gathered to pack backpacks and pray over each child who would be receiving their gift the next day.

At 9:30 am children began gathering in the church parking lot to receive their backpack filled with shoes and supplies. We watched child after child hug backpacks and rip open shoe boxes while proud moms smiled with tears in their eyes. Families were invited to stay and play in the water being sprayed by the Flint Hill Fire Department. Moms and dads enjoyed iced coffee and everyone loved the frozen treats and popcorn. Teens from Forest Hill church volunteered to paint faces. It was truly a joy filled way to launch a brand new school year.
